Bradford School of Arts & Media and the Yorkshire Craft Centre contributes to a dynamic creative community in the heart of Bradford.

We have been providing high quality art and design education for over 150 years and you can follow in the footsteps of famous past students such as David Hockney, Andy Goldsworthy and Tony Bevan.

Recently the School along with the Higher Education provision in the College has been awarded University Centre status in recognition of the quality of our programmes. We emphasise the development of innovative ideas and students are encouraged to challenge existing conventions.

The School aims to provide a friendly supportive environment for all, with courses for school leavers and adult returners to undergraduate and masters level programmes.

Open Days

Our tutors are passionate about their specialisms and work closely with students to enable them to reach their full potential. Courses benefit from staff who are practising artists across a wide range of specialisms in design and the arts.
We aim to produce individuals that are self motivated, enterprising and who have the relevant experience to engage as professionals in the creative industries.

You will work in a creative environment where ideas are realised in dedicated studios and well equipped workshops which have been highly rated in recent inspections.

School activities are enriched by local, national and international links such as the Hibrida series of contemporary art exhibitions which have shown simultaneously in Bradford and Brno in the Czech Republic.

The students and staff also benefit from the in-house Bradford Gallery which hosts art, media, crafts, national touring exhibitions as well as the work of our fellows, students and staff. The recent addition of conference facilities within the Yorkshire Craft Centre which provide further links to the local business community.
